Poster Abstract

Patient is a 37 year old female with a PPHx of schizoaffective disorder and PMH of type 1 Diabetes who has had numerous admissions to the ICU due to uncontrolled blood sugars in the setting of continued delusions and medication noncompliance. With continued episodes of DKA, patient continued to psychiatrically decline over the course of multiple years. Studies have shown that anti-psychotic treatment in schizophrenia can help improve cognitive functioning.
