Lisa Carlucci Thomas is the Director & Founder of Design Think Do, a creative services and consulting firm specializing in libraries and information services. Lisa is a 2010 Library Journal Mover & Shaker, a 2009 ALA Emerging Leader, and a MLIS graduate of Syracuse University. In 2013-2014, Lisa worked with the OCLC Training Team to develop instructional resources and presentations for OCLC members learning WorldShare ILL, WorldCat Discovery, and License Manager.
Her previous experience in academic libraries includes library management (public and technical services), project management (digitization, collections, and systems projects), and electronic collections, digital services, and systems librarianship at Yale University and Southern Connecticut State University. Lisa is currently the Director of Dissemination & Implementation at the Center for Social Innovation (C4), where she oversees strategy, design, and development of C4’s innovative, cutting-edge products. Under Lisa's leadership, the D&I team creates learning tools, applications, and resources which bring research into practice in support of behavioral health and recovery, substance use prevention, housing and homelessness, and other social issues.
Lisa Carlucci Thomas has presented on a variety of topics concerning the future of libraries. Her writings include the chapter Mobile Present, Mobile Future from the book Handheld Library: Mobile Technology and the Librarian, and Making Sense of Change: E-books, Access, and the Academic Library from No Shelf Required 2: Use and Management of Electronic Books.
